Amsterdam, L. van der Vinne, 1838. Original oblong softback edition. (9) + (1 blank) pages + 50 sheets, printed only in recto, with 100 diagrams of chess (2 problems for each leaf) colored by hand (the black squares in yellow). 10,8 x 18,5 cm. In Dutch.
Fair to good: Some defects. Almost all of the diagrams with scribbles erasable (just a few 10-12 do not have). The first 65 diagrams, each with various scribbles, indicating several moves of a variant. From the diagram 66 just a line (indicating only one posible move) by diagram. To know the approximate condition, please see the photos. All the major defects are photographed.

First Dutch edition (another in 1849), translated from the original German language of the author F. W. von Mauvillon.
The only time that I have seen in Klittich (auctions 43-48, and 54-72) sell the first complete Dutch Edition (including the Half Title page) was in 65 Klittich-Pfankuch Auction (November 2013). A copy sold for a TOTAL PRICE € 147,66 (Total Hammerprice 120,00 EUR + Buyers Premium 15% 18,00 EUR + 7% VAT 9,66 EUR), and another copy in the same Auction sold for a TOTAL PRICE € 258,41!!! (Total Hammerprice 210,00 EUR + Buyers Premium 15% 31,50 EUR + 7% VAT 16,91 EUR).
