World championship tournament Hague-Moscow 1948 – photo of 3 masters / correspondents. Size 15.7 x 11 cm. 10 grams.

 

The photo was published in the magazine Ceskoslovensky sach 1948, cover of double-issue 6/7.

Good to very good:  light general signs of use, no flaws. Indistinct Russian stamp and some erasable pencil notes on the back.


The photo shows 3 persons, who were in the world championships as journalists: 

Lodewijk Prins (1913-1999, to the left), strong Dutch IM and honorary GM, Dutch champion, many times participated in chess olympiads etc.

 

Josef Louma (1898-1955, in the middle), strong Czech master, FIDE vicepresident 1951-54, journalist (Ceskoslovensky sach etc), chess study composer - author of some 60 endgame studies.

 

Karel van het Reve (1921-1999) Dutch writer and historian.

 

The photo comes from the Moscow part of the world championship.
