1- Dufresne, Jean: "Anthologie der Schachaufgaben". Eine Sammlung der besten Aufgaben, Probleme und Studien der verschiedensten Art. Herausgegeben von Jean Dufresne, nebst Original-Beiträgen von A. Anderssen.

Berlin, Verlag von Louis Gerschel, 1864. Title page + II Vorrede pages + 1 Bezeichnung unnumbered page + IV Index Names pages + XVIII + 378 pages + Errata page. Anderssen's special contribution is in pages 186-204.

 

2- Dufresne, Jean: Anhang zu Dufresne Anthologie der Schachaufgaben. "Die Probleme des Londoner Schach-Turniers von 1862" nebst deren vollständigen Lösungen enthaltend: sämmtliche Preis-Probleme nebst einer Auswahl der besten Aufgaben derjenigen Bewerber, die keinen Preis erhielten. Von Jean Dufresne.

Berlin, Verlag von Louis Gerschel, 1865. Title page + II unnumbered Einleitung pages + 68 pagesThe edition appeared as "Appendix to Dufresne anthology of chess problems".

 

BOUND TOGETHER. Private quarter hardback binding with gold print on spine21,3 x 14,5 cm. Both in German.

 

Very good: Covers protected by a plastic cover glued inside the covers. General very good or excellent condition.

"Anthologie der Schachaufgaben": 4 problems stuck in the first safeguard. The 2 that are in front of the Title Page have caused a spot of foxing on that page. Small remainder of a label in the upper outer corner of the Title Page. Otherwise, in excellent condition.

"Die Probleme des Londoner Schach-Turniers von 1862": Some slight wrinkles, especially at the bottom of the pages. Last page with a large dark spot, perhaps foxing, caused by some old paper that was on the stain, and pasted something defective binding of that page.

BOTH VOLUMES RARE, VERY SCARCE AND VERY HARD TO FIND!!
