The book is well researched and is the product of about ten years' work. It contains biographical gleanings about Staunton, with a bias towards his private life and the human side of his nature. There are surprises and very much that is new. Occasionally the author has strayed a little to report interesting and unsuspected biographical facts about a number of his acquaintances, clearing up a few mysteries in the process. There are copious notes at the end of each chapter, quoting source references, etc. Blue hardback with gilt print on cover and spine. 193 pages. 2011. Limited edition. 100 copies printed.
