Tarrasch - Tschigorin 1893 exlibris D. Przepiórka :

Tarrasch - Chigorin. Heyde, Albert. (Publisher) The chess competition between Dr. med. S. Tarrasch and M. Tschigorin end of 1893. With thorough explanations. With the pictures and biographies of the two players. Berlin, Bruer, 1893. 8 °. With 2 portrait panels and many diagrams. 92 pages, 2 sheets. Private binding with gilt titel on spine. Linde - N. 5032. The competition ended in a draw with 9 to 9 in 4 draws.

With an embossed exlibris from Dawid Przepiórka (1880-1940), who was murdered during Palmiry massacre by Nazi German forces. He was a member of the strong Polish chess olympic team during the 1930s. After the war a discussion arose whether Alekhine could have intervened to save Przepiórka life. More information on this can be found in the excellent article by Mr. Winter (http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/extra/alekhine.html). In context with this exlibris this book is a unique item.

Condition : Binding with some slight wear, on the front there is a stain. Paper slightly browned. Otherwise inside nice and clean. Overall Assessment = Good!

Postage EUR (insurance included) : Austria € 3,90; Germany € 9,90; other EU countries € 12,90; Non-EU countries please ask

I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.

I send with the so called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is in general the most cost effective and reliable way to send parcels in Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.

  1. PM 045 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 45 cm) GER=€9,90, other EU = €12,90
  2. PM 070 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 70 cm) GER=€14,90, other EU = €17,90
  3. PM 120 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 120 cm) GER=€19,90, other EU = €22,90

Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipment costs will be the same as for 1 book.

Important : Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.

P.S.: Bibliographical data taken from the KWABC (http://www.kwabc.org/) database maintaned by Mr. Per Skjoldager (PS).
