DESCRIPTION

Schach-Aphorismen und Reminiscenzen

Albin, Adolph. Chess-aphorisms and reminiscences. Hannover, self-published 1899. 8°. With portrait plate of the author and few diagrams. 4 sheets, 112 pages. Original publisher binding in red cloth with embossed chessboard on front cover and gold stamped title. Linde - N. 4278. The Romanian master and theorist A. Albin (1847 - 1920) had some strong appearances at tournaments and introduced in the time around 1890 the named after him counter-gambit in the tournament practice. The issue contains entertaining chess aphorisms, some tournament games by Albin (including the tournament in Dresden 1892, New York 1893, Hastings 1895), the "Chess Comedy to Nuremberg" and end positions. Rare edition.

Condition: Binding with slight wear. Many red and black stamps on the endpapers, also on plate, plate tissue, title page and dedication page. Black stamps also on page 27,47,63 and 81, but these are unobtrusive and straight like the text. Otherwise inside nice and clean. Please take a careful look at the attached pictures, these are part of the description. Overall Assessment = Still Good!

Postage EUR (insurance included) : Austria € 3,90; Germany € 9,90; other EU countries € 12,90; Non-EU countries please ask

I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.

I send with the so called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is in general the most cost effective and reliable way to send parcels in Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.

  1. PM 045 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 45 cm) GER=€9,90, other EU = €12,90
  2. PM 070 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 70 cm) GER=€14,90, other EU = €17,90
  3. PM 120 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 120 cm) GER=€19,90, other EU = €22,90

Therefore if you buy more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipment costs will be the same as for 1 book.

Important : Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
