Vera Menchik (1906 Moscow - 1944 London), woman World champion in 1927-1944. She often took part in men tournaments. Men she defeated - Euwe, Reshevsky, Opocensky, Thomas, Becker and others - were said to belong to the Menchik club.
Biography, 94 games, mostly annotated, indexes. Jan Kalendovsky is well known chess historian.
Published in the program of the 11th Olexa-memorial tourney.
