288 pages, a superbly produced book full of colour plates of chess sets and pieces.
Hardback with dust jacket, excellent condition throughout.
The famous Soviet chess historian gives a 40 page history of the game followed by over 200 pages of articles and illustrations of chess pieces, with an emphasis on Russian items.
I didn't know that Tal was a chess collector.
