With many diagrams. 1 leaf, XLI, 304 pages, 1 errata leaf bound in between. Original blue linen with gold embossed coverand illustration. L/N 1855. Betts 13 - 42: "Selected openings analyzed, with illustrative games." Henry Edward Bird (1830 - 1908) was an English master and a representative of the romantic chess era. Some opening ideas were named after him. 

Condition: VG. Slight wear. Publishers original blue cloth.
