Modern brown cloth binding with gilt titles on spine. One repaired page tear otherwise excellent condition throughout.
644 pages, Index. Betts 7-28, LN 6397.
One of the best ever chess periodicals, expensively produced on good quality paper with some coloured diagrams.
Many articles of historical interest, by Alphonse Delannoy, Ernst Falkbeer and others. Hundreds of games and problems, plus around 60 illustrations and portraits.
A wonderful magazine which struggled on for four further issues up to September 1882 before closing due to a lack of support.
