The complete first eight years, numbers 1 to 46, with annual indexes, in the original stapled issues.
The magazine ceased temporarily in 1989 before resurfacing in 1993 as a syndicated column around the world.
These first eight years include CN items 1 to 1933 which are not available in the online Chess Notes Archives.
Eight years of fascinating historical and contemporary articles by the world's foremost chess journalist and historian, including discussion of many controversies, forthright book reviews, authoritative investigations, trivia, games, puzzles, etc. etc.
These early issues even included praise for some of Raymond Keene's books, and chess games by Winter himself.
