Welcome to my sale of chess periodicals.
The British Chess Magazine, volume XVI, 1896. Edited by Isaac M. Brown, London 1896.
Bound in dark green cloth, tear along the spine edge and back board and smaller tear at top of spine and front board. Back board a little loose. Some foxing to a few pages but generally good and tightly bound inside.
This volume is from the Bristol & Clifton Chess Club, and also has the ex libris label of P. R. Kings.
Many articles of interest including obituaries (From, Freeborough, Pollock, Wyvill, etc.), book reviews (The Chess Bouquet, Common Sense in Chess, Hastings Chess Tournament, Nuremburg Congress, etc.), correspondence, portraits, history (Old Masters of Modern Chess: Del Rio, Lolli and Cozio) etc.
