DESCRIPTION

Welcome to my sale of chess periodicals.

The Chess Amateur Volumes VI and VIII, 1911-1914, incomplete.

Bound by the Belfast binders Carswell & Son in limp green cloth covers similar to the publisher's bindings, with gilt titles on spine.

These two volumes are both incomplete with a few specific pages missing from each issue as follows:

Volume VI includes title page and index, but lacks the first four pages of each issue and also the problem pages by P. H. Williams from each issue. October 1911 to September 1912.

Volume VIII has no title page or index for this volume but does include the index for volume VII; this lacks the first four pages and the final two advert pages from each issue. October 1913 to September 1914.

Very strange.

Many interesting articles, games, problems, correspondence, book reviews, portraits, etc., with contributions by Carslake Winter-Wood, C. T. Blanshard, F. S. Moore, W. T. Pierce, Dr. Planck, T. R. Dawson, Philip H. Williams, F. Baird, Alain C. White, John Keeble, W. Moffatt, and many others.
