Bederke, Arno (Ed. of numbers 1-35) and Schlechte, Friedrich (Ed. of numbers 36-47): "MITTEILUNGSBLATT" (numbers 1-37 and 44), and "MESSENGER" (numbers 38-43 and 45-47). Jahrgang 1 (1969) - 9th Volume (1977).
Hamburg (numbers 1-35) and München (numbers 36-47), Gemeinschaft der Schach-Motivsammler, 1969-1977. Beautiful quarter cloth binding with the gold embossed title in Spanish on the spine. The first 37 numbers look like copies. It is possible, although I am not sure, that the first numbers (as in other minority magazines of the time) were duplicated and not printed. Some numbers I suppose should be copies by the X-shaped signs on some page. Individual pagination of each year, with 20 pages each, except 1976 with 40 pages, and 1977 with 44 pages, in Total 224 pages. In German (numbers 1-37 and 44), and English (numbers 38-43 and 45-47). 21,5 x 15,5.
Excellent: Minor defects. Inside pages are clean and without writings, in excellent condition, in some cases practically like new.
According to information I have seen on the Internet, the publication of this magazine started in January 1969 only in German (MITTEILUNGSBLATT, Nr. 1. Jahrgang 1, Januar 1969, Nr. 1), and in May 1976 began to be published in 2 versions, one in German and one in English (MESSENGER No. 38. 8th Volume, May 1976, No. 3). This lot, from number 38, contains the English version, except number 44 which is of the German version. I do not know why the former owner collected the English version from number 38, and yet the number 44 is in German.
