Praha, Sdruzeni sachovych skladatelu a resitelu, 1946. Orig. softcovers, issues 1, 2/3, 4 paginated separately: 46 leaves printed on rectos only + 32 pages + 32 pages. Size 21-22 cm. 220 grams. In Czech. Published 200 copies. LN 5997, Soukup 16.

Condition:

Issue 1 = Good: lacks ca 1.5 cm of spine at the top and bottom, otherwise light general signs of use, text is OK with no writings.

Double-issue 2-3 = Fair: covers detached, rear cover has tears and chips at margins, in text pencil notes.

Issue 4 = Good to very good: light general signs of use, text is clean with no writings.

The volume contains 100 original compositions (80 problems + 20 studies) and about 25 articles with reproduced compositions. Authors are mostly known Czech composers - Havel, Soukup, Mach, Mikan, Mandler, Palkoska etc.

This Czech problem magazine has subtitle "Sbornik Sdruzeni sachovych skladatelu a resitelu" (A Symposium of the Association of Chess Composers and Solvers). Volume 1946 is the only volume, when it is published separately, 4 issues in all. Since 1947 is the Sachove umeni incorporated in the magazine Ceskoslovensky sach.

The circulation was only 200 copies. The circulation is not stated in the magazine but Ilja Mikan informs about it in Ceskoslovensky sach 1969, supplement Sachove umeni, page 1.
