The problems of the London Chess Tournament of 1862, in addition to their complete solutions, included: pious Prize problems, as well as a selection of the best tasks of those applicants who did not receive a prize. Berlin, Gerschel, 1865. 8°. With 192 Charts. 1 Bl., 68 S. Brown Half-Tone Ribbon. (44) * Linde - N. 2405. The edition appeared as "Appendix to Dufresne anthology of chess problems". The first prize Conrad Bayer was awarded the London problem tournament prize, Arnold Pongracz, and B. Horwitz. The edition also includes a small selection of problems from the Bristol Problem tournament 1861 and prize assignments from Manchester 1857, Birmingham 1858 and Cambridge 1860. - Handwritten number on inner cover. Title page browned; occasional foxing and a few stamps. Cover a little rubbed and label on back. From bibliothek Lothar Schmidt.
