Ansbach, C. Brügel & Sohn, 1914. Beatiful flexible illustrated cardboard edition with the upper outer edge of the pages tinted. 2 Portraits + XII + 294 pages. 17,5 x 11,8 cm. In German.
Very good to excellent: Minor defects. Small tear on the surface in the center of the top edge on the inside of the front cover, probably caused by removing some label. Very slight discoloration on the spine and on the upper edge (in this area it is almost negligible) probably due to the action of the sun, as well as a very slight crack between pages 144-145. Without a doubt, a book in excellent condition.
Linde - N. 3111.
While at the beginning of the book are the prefaces (Vorwort) of the first and Second Edition, reason why in many places appears as the Second Edition, it is necessary to comment that it is actually the second on Pillsbury, but the first on Charousek. Prior to this edition of 1914, Bachmann just published a book on Pillsbury in 1908 (Linde - N. 3110), but none about Charousek. So, in 1930, when they were published separately, Pillsbury book is published as the third edition (Linde - N. 3112), and of Charousek is published as the Second Edition (Linde - N. 3053).
