"CHESS, Volume 3" edited by B.H.Wood. Published in hardback by CHESS, Sutton Coldfield in 1938. First Edition. 444pp. Plus index. Magazine numbers 25-36 (Sept 1937 - Aug 1938). The volume is in Good+ condition. All the magazine covers are bound in and the magazines themselves are all in good, readable condition with only minor age related scuff marks and the odd speck here and there. The binding is a blue colour with the name of a Detroit, USA company chess and checkers club stamped on the front board (see scan). All the magazines have this company library stamp on the front cover of each issue (see scan). The gilt lettering on the spine is still clear (see scan). The page edge block has light age browning but no foxing. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Very Heavy!
