Two thematic Chess Endings books: "Chess Endings - Essential Knowledge" by Yuri Averbakh (published in hardback by Pergamon Press in 1973) and "A Pocket Guide to Chess Endgames" by David Hooper (published in hardback by Bell & Sons in 1973). The Averbakh volume has a transferred liquid stain on the edition and contents pages but apart from this, and mild signs of handling on the page edge block, is in Good+ condition. Issued in a pictorial cover without a dustjacket. The Hooper volume is also in Good+ condition. It also has mild signs of handling on the side page edge block and more severe discolouration on the top edge block. This book's dustjacket is in Very Good conditon and is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Both volumes appear to be inscription free.
