1926 hc booklet with 9 games
of master Frantisek Pithart from 1940s
written in his own hand
Partiar.
Praha, chess club Dobrusky, (1926). Orig. paper binding. 7, (1) pages + 32 leaves. Size 16.5 cm. 80 grams. In Czech. Soukup 82; LN 4723; Mokry 224.
Fair: binding is worn and somewhat soiled, spine torn at the top. Internally OK.
The booklet contains tournament and playing rules + 32 blank scoresheets.
Master Frantisek Pithart fulfilled 9 of these scoresheets with his own games played mostly in Prague 1948, Kautsky memorial tourney.
The games are written in pen in Pithart’s hand but they are not signed.
Pithart’s opponents were Botur, Michal, Zaruba, Rosenblatt, Vybiral, Chodera, Hejduk, Hovorka (picture 2), Votocek.
Biographical data:
Frantisek Pithart (1915-2003), Czech master (since 1951) and noted trainer. One of the best Czech players after wws. He participated many times in the finals of Czechoslovak championships. He took part in the chess olympiad Helsinki 1952 and in European team chamionship 1957. Author of many books and articles.
