Typed letter dated 16. II. 1948, signed by Czech master Karel Prucha.
Size 29.5 x 21 cm. In Czech. The weight 10 grams.
Good: light general signs of use, light traces after horizontal + vertical centre fold, some pen notes in Pithart’s hand on the rear side.
The letter begins „Vazeny priteli“ (Dear friend). Karel Prucha invites the addressee (=F. Pithart) to take a part in the correspondence chess match Prague – Amsterdam.
It is signed by Prucha in pen. A notice in green ink (it means „Yes!“) is in Pithart’s as well as notes on the back.
Biographical data:
Frantisek Pithart (1915-2003), Czech master (since 1951) and noted trainer. One of the best Czech players after wws. He participated many times in the finals of Czechoslovak championships. He took part in the chess olympiad Helsinki 1952 and in European team chamionship 1957. Author of many books and articles.
Karel Prucha (1901-1980), Czech master since 1923, 4x participated in the final of Czechoslovak championship, chess journalist, in 1940s and 1950s author of many private mimeographed publications.
