Two vintage instructional chess books: "The Middle Games in Chess" (by Reuben Fine) and "The Bright Side of Chess" (by Irving Chernev ). Both published in hardback by Hollis & Carter in 1953 and 1952, respectively. Both First Editions. 444pp + 155pp. Both books are in Good condition, as are their dustjackets. Both books are tightly bound and inscription free. The Fine volume has some shelf lean and occasional foxing plus signs of handling to the page edge block; the Chernev volume less so. Both dustjackets are now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request.
