"The Chess Tournament, London 1851" by Howard Staunton. Published in hardback by the Batsford in 1986 as a "Classic Reprint" of the original hardback edition from 1852. 377pp. The book is in Very Good, unmarked condition and is inscription free. The page edge block is clean and the book has obviously been well cared for over the years. Games are in old fashioned (ie. "Q takes Kt") English descriptive notation. The dustjacket is in Good+ condition with fading on the spine to note (see scan). The rear panel of the dustjacket is not faded (as appears to be the case in the scanned image), that is simply shadow reflection. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve.
