"R. P. Michell - A Master of British Chess" by Julius du Mont. Published in hardback by Isaac Pitman and Sons in 1947. First Edition. 108pp. The book is in Good+ overall condition. The binding is tight and the internal pages are largely very clean and inscription free. There is a small dried liquid stain on the title page plus the odd speck or two internally but these are rare and the vast majority of the pages are in very good order considering the book is over 70 years old. The boards are clean (see scan). The page edge block has a couple of miniscule specks on it but otherwise is clean. The dustjacket is an oddity as a previous owner has decided to protect it by placing layers of sellotape over it. This results in protection but also an ugly looking outer cover (see scan). Perhaps these layers can be removed with a specialist liquid but I doubt it. Previous owners name in pen on the front endpaper. Games are in English descriptive notation. Quite scarce.
