"The 1000 Best Short Games of Chess" by Irving Chernev. Published in hardback by Hodder and Stoughton in 1957. First UK Edition. 555pp. The book is in Fair plus condition. The internal pages are largely very clean and unmarked apart from around 10 pages that have small brown (dried liquid?) stains on their top edges. There is also a previous owner's name and bookplate label on the front endpaper. The book boards would appear to have suffered some liquid damage at some point in the past as the front board and spine show in the scanned image. The boards also show a tendency to bow slightly. The page edge block is lightly tanned, from age only. These depredations are offset by the volume now being protected by a FACSIMILE colour dustjacket. This dustjacket is in Good condition. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Heavy! Approx.unpacked weight: 885g. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK: £5.00. Postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra. Please ask me for details.
