DESCRIPTION

Up for bids is "Tartacover vous parle," the French-language edition of Savielly Tartakower's best games from 1905 to 1930, published in 1953.  This is a special copy signed and inscribed by Tartakower to the noted Swedish chess master Erik Lundin.  Excellent frontispiece portrait, with pagination of 1-335.  L/N 3366.

The book is in very good condition, with light wear to the spine ends, bright wrappers, solid binding, and very clean contents with the mildest of toning to the page edges. Tartakower's inscription to Lundin is very warm, and is in bright two-color ink.  Tartakower was a Russian born grandmaster, later residing in Austria, Poland, and France, and was noted for his victory at the famous Liege 1930 tournament, his outstanding play at Olympiads, and his sharp wit.  This book is a unique item!
