Fair: The most important defects are those related to binding, with the spine quite damaged and the bottom of the spine partially detached from the book block (see below 7 photos of the spine), and with some dirt on the covers. Unidentified signature on the Title Page. Inside there is also some small spot, some wrinkle, some signage (mainly a circle around the game number, although occasionally there is some underlining, although they are very few), and some dirt, although the condition in general is good, and the book can be read without any problem.

RARE, VERY SCARCE AND VERY HARD TO FIND!!

Despite the odd pagination, as pages 1-2 seem to be missing, the book is complete. It seems that the page of the Title Page is pages 1-2, and that by adding pages III-VII to finalize the book with the note "Ao leitor" (page III) and "Errata" (pages IV-VII) , the Author "considered" (perhaps by mistake or without being aware) that the Title Page was at the same time pages 1-2 and I-II.

Another serious error is the printed year of the edition (1929), a repeated error on the front cover and on the Title Page, since in reality the year is 1930, as can be clearly seen in the introduction "Ao Leitor". This error is partially corrected with the Editor's note pasted inside the front cover.

The book analyzes a total of 104 games, and is divided into 3 parts:

- PRIMEIRA PARTE - DEFEZA MORPHY, pages 5-242 with games 1-67.

- SEGUNDA PARTE - DEFEZA BERLINENSE, pages 243-298 with games 68-88.

- TERCEIRA PARTE - OUTRAS DEFEZAS, pages 299-363 with games 89-104.
