DESCRIPTION

Breslau 1889, Dresden 1892 embossed initials "A. A.":

Breslau 1889. Gottschall, H. v., J. Metger and H. Seger. (Ed.) The sixth congress of the German Chess Federation. Breslau 1889. Leipzig, Veit, 1890. 8°. With 1 portrait of Siegbert Tarrasch and many diagrams. 1 sheet, 287 pages. L/N. 5229

Dresden 1892. Schellenberg, P., J. Metger, P. Lipke and J. Mieses. (Ed.) The seventh congress of the German Chess Federation Dresden 1892. Leipzig, Veit, 1894. 8°. With some diagrams. 1 sheet, 272 pages. L/N 5235

These two books are bound together in a cloth binding with a label on spine. What makes it special in my opinion are the gold embossed initials "A. A." on the front cover. Compare them with the pages 68+69 of In Memoriam by Mr DeLucia. It may be a coincidence, but it is not unlikely that the book comes from the library of A. Alekhine.

Condition: Binding with slight wear, a few chippings on the upper hinge and corners, which are lightly bumped. The plate with the Tarrasch portrait is in excellent condition. The picture of the participants of Dresden 1892 is a polaroid copy.  Otherwise inside nice and clean. Overall Assessment = Very Good!

Postage EUR (insurance included) : Austria € 3,90; Germany € 9,90; other EU countries € 12,90; Non-EU countries please ask

I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.

I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels in Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight isn´t important although it is limited to 31,5 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.

  1. PM 045 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 45 cm) GER=€9,90, other EU = €12,90
  2. PM 070 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 70 cm) GER=€14,90, other EU = €17,90
  3. PM 120 = longest and the shortest side of the parcel are added max. 120 cm) GER=€19,90, other EU = €22,90

Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipment costs will be the same as for 1 book.

Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
