"CHESS, Volume 17" edited by B.H.Wood. Published in hardback by CHESS, Sutton Coldfield in 1952. First Edition. 250pp. Plus index. Magazine numbers 193-204 (Oct 1951 - Sept 1952). The volume is in Good overall condition for its age. The boards are clean, the binding strong and there is no shelf lean. The gilt lettering on the spine area has strongly faded and is now hardly visible. The page edge block is tanned from age. The internal pages are all clean and inscription free. The quality of paper used was quite poor by modern standards and this has resulted in mild tanning to all the internal pages but this is not as strong as some volumes I have seen.
