Haag - Moscow 1948

during the World Chess Champioinhsip

Good to very good: Light signs of use. Illegible stamp of Russian photographer on the back. Some erasable pencil notes on the back.
Of the 4 persons in the front, I can identify from the left:
- Josef Louma
- ???
- Karel Opocensky
- Yuri Toshev
These players were journalists during the World championship.
Josef Louma (1898-1955), Czech master, FIDE vicepresident 1951-54, journalist, chess study composer.
Karel Opocensky (1892-1975), strong chess master, author of several books. His best years were 1920s and 1930s: 4 times Czechoslovak champion (1927, 1929, 1938, 1944). He took part in chess olympiads 1931, 1933, 1935 and 1939. At the 1933 chess olympiad made Opocensky 12,5 points of 14 and helped considerably to the 2nd place of the Czechoslovak team.
Yuri Toshev (1907-1974), Bulgarian co-champion in 1933.
