DESCRIPTION

BOTH SCORESHEETS CIOCÂLTEA-BOTVINNIK

3rd EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (HAMBURG) 1965

THE BOTVINNIK SCORESHEET IS SIGNED BY BOTH PLAYERS!!

INCLUDING A PRECIOUS POSTCARD IN WHICH BOTVINNIK MAKES ITS EIGHTH MOVE AND IS ABOUT TO PRESS THE CLOCK!!

Scoresheets of the game Ciocâltea-Botvinnik of the 3rd European Team Chess Championship in Hamburg 1965 + Postcard.

Hamburg, SCHACH - Europa - Mannschafts - Meisterschaft, 1965. 21 x 15 cm (scoresheets) and 14,8 x 10,5 cm (postcard).

Very good: Nothing special to review, except the normal browning of the scoresheets. Also, the trace of the pressure of a postage stamp is barely visible on the front of the postcard (it is possible that the postcard was sent in an envelope, and that is why it is not written), although it can be seen with some clarity (there is to look at both areas of the numbers: 1965 and 23/31) on the back of the postcard.

Both scoresheets of the game Ciocâltea-Botvinnik of the European Team Chess Championship in Hamburg 1965, played in the 2nd round on June 7. I am not an expert in Chess Autographs, and although the previous owner says that both signatures are present, I cannot recognize Ciocâltea's clearly, so I have some doubt. Botvinnik's signature is clearly recognized.

The Botvinnik scoresheet has a small historical importance, because in the Ciocâltea scoresheet the game ends with the move 42 of the white, and however in the Botvinnik the white resigns after the move 42 of the black. Even in the Official Bulletin of the Championship (a photocopy of a couple of pages is attached to see the referred data) it is mentioned that the white resigns at the same time of making his play.

The postcard shows the moment in which Botvinnik has just made his 8th move, moving his bishop to "g7", and is about to press the clock.

A TOTALLY UNIQUE DOCUMENT!!
