This auction item consists of 24 issues of CHESS, Sutton Coldfield from the 1940s, privately bound as one volume. The spine of the volume reads: "April 1944 - Dec 1947" but that is not accurate. The actual issues contained in the volume are: Vol 9 (Magazine #103, April 1944), Vol 9 (Magazine #104, May 1944), Vol 11 (Magazine #126, March 1946) - Vol 13 (Magazine #147, Dec 1947). Therefore, magazine numbers 126 - 147 are a complete run of 22 consecutive issues. 676pp. The volume is in Good Plus condition. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean. The magazines are also in Good Plus condition, commensurate with age. Some magazines have the usual vertical crease on them from having been posted back in the day. From a quick check of several pages I could not see any penned annotations or damage to any pages and it would appear from the overall condition of this volume that it has been well cared for over the years.
