Six vintage of issues of "The Australasian Chess Review" from 1936-39. They are: Vol 7 (June 1935), Vol 8 (June, July & Oct 1936), Vol 9 (March 1937) and Vol 11 (March 1939). All are in Poor condition and can only be considered as reference copies. The cover of the June 1935 issue is torn in two parts and detached from the magazine. There is also a piece missing from the rear cover (see scan). The June 1936 issue still has its cover but the connection is not strong. The July 1936 issue has the front cover and first page of the magazine detached. The Oct 1936 issue is the best of the six with the covers in place and no missing pieces. The March 1937 issue has the rear cover detached and pencilled annotation on the front cover and internally. The March 1939 issue has its covered attached but has a piece missing from the front one (see scan). Despite all the above faults, this is an iconic chess magazine published by the great C.J.S. Purdy and are scarce and collectible. Each magazine has between 22-25 pages. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Approx.unpacked weight 205g. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £1.50. Postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra. Please ask me for details.
