Hübner. Der Weltmeisterschaftskampf Lasker - Steinitz 1894.
Emanuel Lasker had a special fascination during his lifetime, as no other chess champion was allowed to hold the world title for 27 years. In addition, perhaps more important, was Lasker's personal charisma, his work as a chess writer and philosopher. The luminosity of his star seems unabated to this day.
Robert Hübner, known for his in-depth chess analysis and polished comments, devotes himself to a special aspect of Lasker's work in this book: his numerous competitions against other chess masters, with the focus, as shown in the title, on the world championship match against Wilhelm Steinitz in 1894. Also another, later competition is considered in detail. This later competitions is the title defense against Carl Schlechter 1910.
Condition: New book. Still in its cellophane. Hardback. 1 st. edition.
