Holzhausen, Walther v.: "Brennpunktprobleme". Eine Studie von W. Freiherrn v. Holzausen. Sonderabdruck aus dem Deutschen Wochenschach (Jahrgang 1908 No. 29 - 31 und Jahrgang 1909 No. 51).

Potsdam, A. Stein's Verlagsbuchhandlung, (1908-1909). Private quarter cloth marbled binding, with gold Title in spine. 46 pages, with original softback publisher front cover bound in. 24 x 16,4 cm. In German.

Good: Binding with major defects in the spine, which is very rubbed, with partial loss of the title text (in the upper part of the spine), as well as slight loss of the surface leather, causing it to slightly stain on contact with that area. Famous ex-libris of the Italian collector Pellegrini inside the front cover. The last name and other data written in pencil appear in the lower inner corner of page 46. On the Title page, slight underlines in the name of the Author, with pencil (probably easy to erase). Most diagrams of the first 33 pages are signaled. Otherwise, normal defects in an old book: some browning, and some light wrinkle. Otherwise, a book in good condition.

In the Klittich Auctions I know, only one copy has been auctioned!!

In lot 709 of Auction 57 of Klittich (June 2010) there is a picture of the front cover and it is different, in which the full text mentioned above appears: Sonderabdruck aus dem Deutschen Wochenschach (Jahrgang 1908 No. 29 - 31 und Jahrgang 1909 No. 51). There are 2 possible explanations, or the extra number 51 of 1909 (Linde - N. 2587) was published with a front cover with that text, or, after the publication of the second extra number (1909) that completed the extra number 29-31 of 1908 (Linde - N. 2585), an edition with the 2 numbers was published together with the front cover of the Klittich lot. In the book that I auction, only the front cover of the extra number of 1908 is present, in which only the following text appears: Sonderabdruck aus Nr. 29 - 31 des Deutschen Wochenschachs.
