Contains the text of Franklin's The Morals of Chess, a commentary on this essay with historical notes, Franklin's other writings on chess and the result of a research by the author among his various works. The author then list and describe, in chronological order, American publications from 1802 and forward to 1859 - a revised edition of Fiske's American Chess Bibliography. 60 publications in total. 4 plates printed recto and verso. 92 pages, 2 leaves. 23 cm.
