Fine condition: like new.
The book has a subtitle "Ein Streifzug durch den Schach-Mikrokosmos des Endspiels Koenig und Springer gegen Koenig und Bauer" and is a definitive work on the endgames King + Knight versus King + Pawn. The book includes about 250 endgame studies and positions with above material, all systematically arranged and explained. Name index at the end.
Original author of the book is Dutch study composer John Selman (1910-1978). Selman's manuscript was updated and enlarged by Harrie Grondijs and published as a book in 1998.
The book appears in two versions - one is a paperback that was not a limited edition. The other version is a hardbound copy. There were only 10 hardcover copies published, and all of them are numbered and signed by the author. Our copy is one of this limited edition and has number 10 as shown in the pictures.

Harrie Grondijs wrote many books, his favourite themes are the endgame studies and the history of chess. I like his books as both the content and form are of high quality. Most of his works are published in low editions, usually numbered and signed by the author - this is a reason why Grondijs' books almost do not appear in the market.
