The Family Friend, January-June 1850 (= complete volume 2).
London – England, Houlston and Stoneman, Jan-June 1850. Contemporary half-leather, spine lettered. VIII + 354 pages + 24 pages Appendix. Size 18 cm. The weight 340 grams. In English. Whyld page 141.
Good minus: binding is somewhat rubbed and a little soiled. Endpapers are somewhat stained. Text is OK, sporadicly slightly stained (nothing serious). One leaf (p.181/2, there is no chess on these pages, see picture 4) has bottom corner torn off with small loss of the text – 10 words or so.
The magazine was published fortnightly, the volume contains 12 chess columns one full page each, with 12 problems and 12 games.
Editor of chess section was Daniel Harrwitz.
