Das Interessante Blatt, complete chess columns for 1908 + 1909 + 1910 bound in an old file-order.
Vienna – Austria, 1908-1910. The cuttings of chess columns are pasted on sheets of paper and the 3 volumes are bound together in an old file order. Large size ca 30 x 24 cm. The weight 1,350 grams. In German. Whyld page 213.
Fair: covers soiled. The sheet with the last column from Dec 26, 1910 is soiled and it is free enclosed (not bound in). Some wear and some soil to margins, some general wear, sporadic marks in crayon.
Signed in red crayon by Czech problem composer and collector Ilja Mikan on front cover.
Editor Georg Marco in 22/07/1909 - 26/12/1910. Before 22/07/1909 editor not stated but probably not Marco - maybe some Czech editor because there are many problems published by Czech composers; (Jan Kotrc? - he lived in Vienna around 1910).
The volumes are complete, they were checked column by column – as well as all the other columns offered in our auctions.
The 3 volumes contain 300+ problems, years 1909 and 1910 also some news and „Schachkorrespondenz“. There are no games.
The volumes are ordered backwards in the way they were stored in the binder – 1910 at the beginning, then 1909 and finally 1908.
The file-order contains:
volume 1910: 52 columns with ca 150 problems (usually 3 problems per column)
volume 1909: 52 columns with ca 100 problems (1 problem per column to 20 May, then usually 3 problems per column since 27 May)
volume 1908: 52 columns with 52 problems – in this was published just 1 problem per column (picture 5)
