The Dutch Dr. Alexander Rueb was the first FIDE President (from 1924 to 1949) and founder of the "National Schaakgebouw" (NSG) in The Hague. The chess library and archive of endgames / studies had been largely compiled by him. His great passion was the endgame and studies.
