"CHESS, Volume 2" edited by B.H.Wood. Published in hardback by CHESS, Sutton Coldfield in 1937. First Edition. 462pp. Plus index. Magazine numbers 13-24 (Sept 1936 - Aug 1937). PLEASE NOTE: Issue 13 has the first double page (ie. page numbers 1-2) missing and these pages plus the year index are provided in FACSIMILE format (see scan). The volume is in Good overall condition. All the magazines are in good, readable condition with only minor age related scuff marks and the odd speck here and there. The internal pages appear to be inscription and annotation free. The binding is the usual proprietor brown colour. There are two small areas of what appears to be ink stains on the rear board (see scan). The gilt lettering on the spine has faded but is still readable. The binding itself is a little shaky and the page edge blocks are darkened from age and handling. I would rate the internal pages of this volume in Good Plus condition and the binding in Fair Plus condition. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation.
