Czechoslovak team before leaving Prague

Good to very good: light signs of use, no flaws. Some writings on the back

The Czechoslovakia finished 4th, mainly due to excellent results of Luděk Pachman (9.5 of 15) and Miroslav Filip (10.5 of 15).

The people in the photo are (from the left):

M Josef Louma, official (1898-1955), FIDE vicepresident 1951-54, journalist (Ceskoslovensky sach etc), chess study composer.

GM Ludek Pachman, player – 1st board (1924-2003), 7x Czechoslovak champion, German champion. Chess writer and theoretician. He won 2 games against Bobby Fischer in 1959.

IM Maxmilian (Max) Ujtelky, player – 2nd reserve, (1915-1979), Czechoslovak co-champion in 1960, he was by the way a direct descendant of Hungarian composer Ferenc Liszt.

M Bedrich Thelen, official, (1905-1972), Czech master.

IM Jiri Fichtl, player – 1st reserve, (1922-2003), 2x Czechoslovak champion. In 1954-1962, he played in 5 olympiads.

M Jaroslav Sajtar, player – 4th board (1921-2003), FIDE vice-president in 1954-1974, honorary FIDE GM

GM Miroslav Filip, player – 2nd board (1928-2009), the best Czechoslovak player in 1950s, one of world's best chess players around 1960, World Championship Candidate 1956 and 1962. Multiple Czechoslovak chess champion. He played in 12 olympiads

IM Frantisek Zita, player – 3rd board (1909-1977), 2x co-winner of Czech(oslovak) championship, multiple winner of Prague chess championship. He played in 5 chess olympiads.
