Lyon 1955
the 2nd World Student Team championship
3 small photos of Czechoslovak players
size 9 x 6 cm each
Good to very good: light signs of use, no flaws. The rear sides are blank.
Photo 1 = Miroslav Filip (1st board), photo 2 = Julius Kozma (2nd board), photo 3 = Frantisek Blatny (1st reserve). The other Czechoslovak players were Josef Marsalek and Jiri Vesely
Biographical data:
GM Miroslav Filip (1928-2009), the best Czechoslovak player in 1950s, one of world's best chess players around 1960, World Championship Candidate 1956 and 1962. Multiple Czechoslovak chess champion. He played in 12 olympiads
Frantisek Blatny (1933-2015), Czech Master, Czechoslovak co-champion in 1964, father of GM Pavel Blatny.
Julius Kozma (1929-2009), Slovak IM, one of the best Slovak players for years. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books.
