1975 "170 SKAKOPGAVER"

København, W. Jørgensen, 1975. Original blue cloth edition. 75 pages + 2 errata pages. 21,2 x 15 cm. In Danish.
Excellent: Minimal defects, practically as new condition. Just noteworthy 2 small tears, and another 3 barely visible, in the last errata and the back of the penultimate, because in the past some "adhesive" stuck them.
Selection of 170 problems of Jørgensen. On page 75 there are 2 corrections, from problems 52 and 120, although they are completely different. The second part of the book (pages 54-74) is devoted to Chess Composition terminology, with 51 additional Problems.
Something curious to unravel is the Title, since it mentions 170 problems, but in the first part of the book (pages 5-53), dedicated to Jorgensen's problems ordered by topic, only 167 appear. The mystery is solved by adding the Problem of the Title Page (with the solution on the back), the problem "f." (page 57) and the problem "ø." (page 65).
Walther Martinus Johannes Jørgensen (03-10-1916 - 17-10-1989) Danish composer and International Master. Walther Jørgensen composed about 700 problems (mostly 3- and moremovers and selfmates) but is mostly known for his work as an editor. He published numerous problem chess books and was problem column editor in "Problemnoter" or "Stella Polaris". He was an International Judge.
