Podebrady 1936 (International tournament). Group photo of the participants – real photo issued as a postcard by Chess club Podebrady. Size 13,5 x 8,5 cm, postally used 23. VII. 1936.
Close to Very good: light signs of use, minor wear to corners.
The names of players are printed on the back.
Sitting: Salo Flohr (the winner ahead of Alekhine), Alexander Aljechin, Vera Mencikova, Paulin Frydman, Lajos Steiner, Kurt Richter, Sir G. A. Thomas.
Staying: Vasja Pirc, Jiri Pelikan, Karel Skalicka, Karel Treybal, Jan Foltys, Erich Eliskases, Gideon Stahlberg, Emil Zinner, Vladimir Petrov, Karel Opocensky.
The sender informs that Karel Treybal just lost against Alekhine.
Postally used 23. VII. 1936, sent to Frantisek Zivny (1902-1989), chess player, chairmain of Moravian-Silesian county in 1940s.
