ALS, dated 25. VIII. 1940

sent probably to Czech composer Ilja Mikan

 

Handwritten letter with 3 stamped diagrams, signed at the end.

The letter is in Czech, begins „Vazeny pane kolego“ (= Dear colleague) but from the content is probable that it is written to Ilja Mikan.

Size: 28 x 21.5 cm.

Good: light/some general signs of use, 2 archive holes at the left margin, horizontal centre fold. 

Biographical data:

Frantisek Hladik (1901-1971), one of representatives of the Bohemian Chess Problem School, author of some 300 problems, his speciality was theory of logical problems. Co-author of the book Sbirka uloh plzenskych autoru.

Ilja Mikan (1911-1979), Czech composer, a representative of the Bohemian Problem School, author of about 1200 problems. He was also book collector, noted problem theoretician and historian, author of many books and articles.
