Good / missing dust jackets: light wear to bindings. Volume 1 has defect (crease/tear) at the top of pages 241/2 and 247/8 that was caused by a misprint. Book-block of volume 2 is cracked between the title page and front free endpaper but all is holding well. Pages are clean and with no writings.
A popular manual of the middle game, explanation and 146 + 127 annotated games.
The book has been translated into several languages (German, English, French, Spanish).
