DESCRIPTION

"CHESS, Volume 17" edited by B.H.Wood. Published in hardback by CHESS, Sutton Coldfield in 1952. First Edition. 366pp. Plus index. Magazine numbers 193-204 (Oct 1951 - Sept 1952). The volume is in Good overall condition for its age. The boards are clean (apart from a moderate amount of tiny white coloured speckles), the binding is strong and there is no shelf lean. The gilt lettering on the spine area has faded and is no longer visible. The page edge block is lightly tanned from age. The internal pages are all clean and inscription free apart from the occasional speckle of foxing, here and there. The quality of paper available was quite poor by modern standards and this has resulted in tanning to all the internal pages but this is not as strong as some volumes I have seen. All the internal pages have a vertical crease from having been posted back at the time of publication. Games and positions are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Approx.unpacked weight: 600g. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK: £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
