DESCRIPTION

"ORGAAN VAN DISCENDO DISCIMUS" 1924

COMPLETE 1ste JAARGANG

In Ducth, by E. Arrias (Den Haag)

Arrias, Dr. Eduard: "ORGAAN van het 's-Gravenhaagsch Schaakgenootschap DISCENDO DISCIMUS" 1924. 1ste Jaargang. Februari-December 1924 (April's issue was numbered 3-4). Hoofdredacteur: E. Arrias.

Den Haag, 's-Gravenhaagsch Schaakgenootschap DISCENDO DISCIMUS, 1924. Nice (and perhaps original from the publisher) blue cloth binding (with wave "effects") with the golden Title embossed in front cover. Title page + 2 unnumbered Index pages + 136 pages (covers, in light cream colour, not included in the pagination) + 1 loose leaf (Vragenlijst No. 1, between pages 86-87). Wrongly (or perhaps because the first intention was, that each number should have an individual pagination) the February number has the pages numbered from 1 to 12 (which added to the 12 pages of January would give 24 pages). Already in the March issue the pagination is updated, to continuous annual pagination. BOUND WITH ALL COVERS. 21,2 x 14,1 cm. In Dutch.

Good to very good: Discolored spine, in which there is no remnant of a possible Title (honestly, it seems that the Title was printed only on the front Cover). Remains of old label (only the mark, without adhesive residue) on the lower part of the spine. Warped binding (the final photo is of the 5 years of the different lots of the auction. In it it is possible to see the warped binding of the years 1924-1926. In this photo the years are ordered consecutively from 1924 to 1928, being 1924 the below and 1928 above). Ex-libris by collector Leo van der Meer on the inside front cover, with a pencil notation (probably erasable) in the upper outer corner opposite in the Safeguard. On page 86 there appears to be some rectification in the diagram of Problem number 6. On page 87 there is some very slight stain caused by the loose leaf (Vragenlijst No. 1). Some wrinkles and some minimal normal flaw for a book this age. Inside without writings.

L/N 6219; Kieler Schachkatalog 105; Di Felice 1761.
