Three vintage "Chess, Sutton Coldfield" volumes in uniform binding. They are Volumes 13, 14 and 15 (Magazine Issue Numbers 145-180, inclusive). Includes an additional 164pp of the "Groningen International Tournament, 1946" which was published as a supplement in various "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield" magazines. Magazine covers bound in and all indices present. The binding states "1948, 1949 and 1950" but the actual pages of each volume tally to the "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield" year of Oct-Sept. There is a bookplate of a previous owner on the inside pastedown of each volume. Each volume is in Good Plus condition. They are inscription and annotation free and suffer only from the usual strong vertical crease on each magazine from where they were posted, back in the day. The blue binding is very strong and it is clear that these volumes have been well cared for over the years. There is no foxing in any of the volumes. The internal pages and edge blocks have tanned from age and the poorer quality of paper available at the time of publication. 248pp+292pp+240pp+164pp makes a whopping total of 944pp of this brilliant and innovative chess magazine. Three lovely looking volumes that would grace any chess book collection. Further scanned images are available on request. Approx.unpacked weight is 2175g. Cheapest postage will be arranged wherever the buyer resides. Any questions, please just ask.
